We ate all the gingerbread houses we built

Your personality was willing to undergo anything if there's a lesson at the end of it. The sunset was cool after the heat of the day. We stared into the sun as it sank like liquid gold. The wealth they had gained, the power they'd accrued, none of it meant anything compared to this. The simple way you told things, unfolded them upon your breath. In the evening everything was silent and we went to sleep along the broad bed of the stars which were falling down.
