Scrambled cities: If you're not gonna do the work(on your soul), then you might as well work til you die

There are two tiers in normal life. Those who are survive and those who thrive.  But nothing is a mistake in life: Nothing comes by chance. You have to prepare for it.  If you thought life was about making money and beating out the Jones's, you've lost already.  Life is: Desire for connection. All unhealthy competition is isolating. We live in an isolated-enough world already. This connection comes from a surprising place: Self-acceptance. A lot of us need to go back to the classroom. A lot of us need to take a silent breather and check in with what we need. This takes serious work. It's the real work. It relies on respect for others and self-respect.  A lot of people in the self-help community try to push the self aside: Manning up is the only side of it they see. But there are certain non-negotiables in this life. Certain things we can't cheat ourselves out of. We are not a piece of meat being acted on.    However, this is where God comes in. Some o...

Why is my mind such a toxic and uncreative mess?

There is no one answer to this question; everyone's mind is different and will be affected by different things. However, here are five possible reasons why your mind might be a toxic and uncreative mess.

1. You're not getting enough sleep.

If you're not getting enough sleep, your mind will be foggy and you'll be less able to think creatively. In addition, lack of sleep can lead to stress and anxiety, which can further inhibit your ability to think creatively.

2. You're not eating healthy foods.

Your brain needs healthy foods in order to function properly. If you're not eating healthy foods, your brain won't be able to generate new ideas or come up with creative solutions.

3. You're constantly stressed out.

If you're constantly stressed out, your mind will be in a state of constant agitation. This will make it difficult for you to focus or think creatively.

4. You're not getting enough exercise.

Exercise is important for both your physical and mental health. If you're not getting enough exercise, your mind will be sluggish and you'll find it harder to think creatively.

5. You're surrounded by negative people.

If you're constantly surrounded by negative people, it will be difficult for your mind to stay positive and creative. Negativity is contagious, so try to surround yourself with positive people who will encourage your creativity.

The reason for this could be that my mind is constantly barraged with irrelevant information due to our over-connected world. Maybe it is because my thoughts are constantly interrupted by notifications or emails. Or it could be because I am constantly bombarded with negative news stories.
