Scrambled cities: If you're not gonna do the work(on your soul), then you might as well work til you die

Freeport McMoran VS BHP: Which is the better stock pick?

Both Freeport McMoran (FCX) and BHP Billiton (BHP) are massive miners with a presence in commodities such as copper, gold, and iron ore. So, which one is the better stock pick?

Well, it depends on your investing goals.

BHP is a more diversified company, with operations in oil and gas, coal, and other metals and minerals. This makes it less risky for investors, as it is not dependent on any one commodity.

Freeport, on the other hand, is more focused on copper. While this gives it a greater exposure to copper prices, it also makes the company more risky.

For income investors, BHP is the better pick. It pays a solid dividend yield of 4.9%, compared to Freeport’s dividend yield of 2.0%.

For growth investors, Freeport may be a better choice. The company is expected to grow its earnings at a rate of 9.5% per year, compared to BHP’s expected growth rate of 7.5%.

Overall, BHP is the better pick for conservative investors, while Freeport may be a better pick for growth investors.

There is no clear answer when it comes to Freeport McMoran versus BHP stock picks; both have their pros and cons. However, it is important to do your own research before investing in any stock.
